What is extension springs?

An extension spring is a tightly coiled wire with a helical structure that provides resistance when extended and returns to its original shape.

Helical wound springs that are tightly twisted together to produce initial tension in the coils are called extension springs. When force is applied to the ends of the object for extension, the original tension causes resistance. How securely and closely the coils are linked depends in part on the initial tension. End coils, hoops, or loops are typically present at both ends of an extension spring to aid in the spring's expansion when any other object is linked to it.
